Ladderback Chair

Traditional ladderback post-and-rung chair, as interpreted by Jennie Alexander in her book Make a Chair from a Tree. Commonly known as a “Jennie Chair”.

All oak parts split fresh from one log, steam-bent, and assembled within 1 week. Built under the instruction of Travis Curtis alongside students from the Chairmaker’s Toolbox.

Red oak, with woven reed seat. Oil/varnish blend.
